Cops tracking down another 113 Malaysian rally participants

Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia – The police are in the midst of tracking down 113 more people linked to the chaos during the Bersih 3.0 rally held in Kuala Lumpur on April 28.

So far, 28 people have been detained after they surrendered or were picked up at their respective homes. Earlier, the police had published 141 photographs of suspects in the media to facilitate investigations into the rally.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Mohmad Salleh said the latest arrests involved two people on Wednesday, at separate locations in Kulai, Johor and Kemaman, Terengganu. "Initial investigations have indicated the suspects are linked to a political party," he said, declining to elaborate.

He was speaking to reporters after the launch of a police-meet-the-people program, in conjunction with the 205th Police Day celebrations in Kerinchi here Saturday.
