Detik.com - January 22, 2009

Reza Yunanto, Jakarta – A number of points in Jakarta will me coloured by protest actions today. For those of you passing through these areas, you should be mindful of the possibility of traffic jams.

According to data from the Metro Jaya regional police Traffic Management Centre (TMC) for Thursday January 22, at least five demonstrations will take place in Jakarta today.

At 10am there will be protest actions at four different points, namely the State Palace, the House of Representatives Building, the offices of the Corruption Eradication Commission and the Department of Forestry.

In addition to this, protesters from the Friends of Falun Gong Indonesia will be holding speeches in front of the Chinese Embassy in the Mega Kuningan area of South Jakarta between 10.45am and 1.15pm.

Later in the afternoon it would be advisable for you not to set out for Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara, Jl. Majapahit, Jl. Juanda and Jl. Veteran. The Solidarity Network for the Families of Victims (JSKK) plans to hold a march that will pass through these stretches of road.
